Restaurant: Coral Room

Coral Room is surprisingly nice inside. It's not super fancy, but from the nondescript exterior, it's a pleasant surprise to walk in and see a nice atmosphere.

The service was pretty good. Not the best - water ran out once and it took a while for her to come see us the first time, but overall she was attentive without being overbearing.

I had a mixed greens salad and we shared a thing of spicy edamame to start. Both were great, even the salad, which I usually am not impressed by when I go out. The edamame was huge for $5. I had the burger, which was really tasty. Not the best I've ever had, but surprisingly good for a menu that doesn't focus on meat. Tanya had the mahi special (mahi on polenta) which was good but not enough fish. The polenta was really good but there were two tiny pieces of fish on top, which she was disappointed about.

The cheesecake apparently changes flavors, and ours was banana and chocolate on peanut crust. Sounds freaking amazing, but was only good. Lots of banana flavor, which was different, but hardly any chocolate, which would have put it over the top. Maybe even just a drizzle of chocolate syrup or something.

As it stood though, we had a very nice meal. Not everything was as perfect as it could have been, but we both left thoroughly pleased.
